About this page
This page gives the contact details of the Grievance Officer for LegalOpine and this website, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and applicable information technology law.
It is for anyone — advocates and staff using LegalOpine, their clients, and people named in documents uploaded to it — who wants to raise a concern about data privacy, security, account access, or misuse of LegalOpine.
If your concern is about a matter a law firm is handling for you, please contact that firm first: the firm is the Data Fiduciary for its matter data and decides requests about it.
1. Grievance Officer
Please address formal complaints, personal data requests, and legal or compliance notices to:
The Grievance Officer
Vidyadhari AI (OPC) Pvt. Ltd.
• Privacy and personal data: privacy@legalopine.in
• Legal notices: legal@legalopine.in
2. How we handle a grievance
• Receipt: We acknowledge every grievance within 48 hours, and tell you if we need anything more to verify who you are or to understand the issue.
• Review and investigation: We examine what you have reported. If your concern is about matter data that a law firm holds in LegalOpine, that firm is the Data Fiduciary for it. We will pass your request to the firm, or work with it to resolve the matter.
• Response: We aim to resolve every grievance within 30 days of receiving it. Where the law prescribes a shorter period for a particular kind of complaint, we respond within that period.
3. How to file a grievance
So that we can deal with your grievance without delay, please include in your email:
1. Who you are: your full name, your email address, and — if you use LegalOpine — the name of your firm.
2. What it concerns: your own account, a matter a firm is handling, or this website.
3. What happened: a clear description of the privacy concern, data error, security issue or account problem, with any screenshots that help explain it.
Please do not send passwords, and do not include other people's personal data or client documents beyond what is needed to explain the issue.
4. If you are not satisfied
If your grievance concerns your personal data and you are not satisfied with our response, you may make a complaint to the Data Protection Board of India. Our Privacy Policy describes your rights in full.
